You should also double-check that your server's firewall is passing traffic
on your SSH port. Normally this is port 22. Starting sshd (on the machine
you are trying to reach) doesn't necessarily mean traffic will get in. The
system-config-securitylevel tool can show you this and you can allow the
traffic with a click or two.

installing FC3 over the network...
by bruce
hi...
is there a way for me to do a graphical install of FC3 on a system that has
no CD drive. I have the isos for the FC3 install CDs, and i can copy them
onto another system in my network.
I'd like to be able to use the graphical installation to upgrade the
system...
any ideas/pointers as to how to go about doing this?
thanks

I'm running the latest version. In any case, Apache is set to accept
connections only from inside our NAT'd firewall.

Grub loading stage2 error
by jery_wang
I've just installed FC3 on hdb1 and I've got XP on hda1.
On the first reboot (and a couple that followed) the following comes up on screen and then just sits there:
GRUB Loading stage2...
I've had a look around a few forums and everyone keeps suggesting booting from the second installation disk or typing in this, that or the other. But it tries to load Grub before trying to boot from the CD drive even though I've got the CD drive infront of the HD in the boot order.
I'm an utter rookie with all this, so I have no idea what information is needed to work out what's going on. Be gentle with me...
Thank you.

Says it all. It is nearly always an Exchange system which erases the
referencing mail header tags :( No cure by changing the mail user
client.

So there is NO WAY for me to figure out how to avoid
top-posting with my OUTLOOK client is there -- or are
you suggesting that I change to a different mail client to
be net-proper? Sheesh. I guess I am looking at a square
peg and everyone else a round hole or is it the other way

I tried "bottom posting" in this way -- will this help? :-D
Any suggestions?

USB Printer Setup
by Stanley T. Davis
I have a HP Deskjet 895C that I have connected with the usb connection
instead of the parallel connection. I cannot find what device is
pointing to the printer. I know usb is working as I have a usb CF
reader attached and it auto mounts when a card is inserted. I know the
usb connection works because my Windows partition sees the printer.

But -- I never installed eAccelerator! Should I? I had my apache
running for awhile only to discover recently that it stopped
working! What is the reason for the error to crop up all of
a sudden and crash PHP or apache webserver?
Any clues?
Thanks for responding,
Dan

MMcache!?!?
eAccelerator is the replacement for Turck MMCache.

problems creating/saving a kickstart file ...
by bruce
hi...
when i use VNS to remotely access a server, i appear to have a problem with
Kickstart Configurator. Basically, I can go through the process, to specify
the kickstart options, but when i try to save the file, nothing happens. The
system effectively sits there with no action.
I've also tried to open the original kickstart.cfg file in the '/rott' dir,
and again, nothing happens. The Kickstart app displays the open file dialog,
but does nothing when i select the kickstart.cfg file...
has anyone else seen/experienced this kind of problem before... searching
google didn't produce any solution, and i don't yet want to file a RH/FC bug
on it if there's a solution...
thanks
