VegaStrike Game
by Mark Guzzo
Need my fix ;-)
I'm trying to install vegastrike either by CVS or the provided rpm file.
Either way I seem to be missing OpenAL. I know what it is, I just can't
seem to find it to install it. Has someone gotten Vegastrike to install
on Fedora Core 3? If so, could you please provide some insight as I seem
to have run out of ideas.

Thanks James,
I'm pretty sure the keyboard and mouse cables are plugged in
correctly, the keyboard works fine, but I will check tomorrow (these
boxes are at work). I've tried just plugging the mouse directly into
the Fedora box with the same results. I will try swapping the inputs,
but, the more I think about it I worry that the KVM did somehow damage
that Fedora box's mouse input. Let me know if you think of anything
else I might have done wrong/setup strange.
Thanks,
Tony

KVM switch and PS2 mouse FC 3
by Tony Wynn
Hi,
I recently bought a KVM switch (Linksys KVM2KIT) to put between a
Windows XP box and a Fedora 3 box. Everything was working fine on the
Fedora box before installing the switch. After installing the switch,
the monitor and keyboard worked fine on both boxes, but the mouse was
frozen. Rebooting the Windows box fixed the mouse problem, but on the
Fedora box the mouse is still frozen. I did some searching and found
this bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?id=111161.
This seems similar, but in the bug the behavior of the mouse is
erratic whereas mine is frozen. I tried switching virtual terminals
and this did not help. I tried the "psmouse.proto=bare, =imps, etc.
in that bug but nothing helped. I then tried plugging the mouse
directly into the Fedora box, still frozen. Rebooted, still frozen.
Powered down, let it sit, powered up, still frozen. Not sure what to
do now, I could give a rat's about the Windows box right now, I just
want to get the Fedora box working again. Anyone have any ideas.
Many thanks in advance,
Tony

As you can see, the './mysql/host.frm' exists and is readable
by mysql. Why am I getting this error?

another selinux question
by Tim Fenn
I'm running both named and dhcpd, and dhcpd is set to do dynamic dns
updates (both use /etc/rndc.key as the authentication key). All used
to be good, but now dhcpd won't start, and errors in the kernel log
show:
audit(1107297176.619:0): avc: denied { search } for pid=8099
exe=/usr/sbin/dhcpd name=named dev=sda1 ino=1295119
scontext=root:system_r:dhcpd_t tcontext=system_u:object_r:named_zone_t
tclass=dir
which I'm quite sure is related to the ownership rights on
/etc/rndc.key (which just points to /var/named/chroot/etc/rndc.key):
/etc/rndc.* -- system_u:object_r:named_conf_t
and as far as I understand it, there isn't a way to specify multiple
contexts. Does anyone know how to solve this?
Regards,
Tim

usb key mounting still broken
by Jack Howarth
After updating to today's 2.6.10-1.12_FC2 kernel, it appears that
the breakage in usb keys not mounting automatically under the gnome
desktop still exists. Inserting a Lexar usb key still doesn't cause
a flash device to appear in the the Computer folder. Has anyone
heard anything specific yet about the origin of this bug introduced
with the 2.6.10 kernels? Hopefully it will be addressed in 2.6.11.

OT: HTML vs. FTP File Delivery
by David Cary Hart
What's the conventional wisdom these days on delivering files? On one
hand it seems more efficient to hand off the transfer from Apache to an
FTP server. On the other hand, an additional process is running.
Any thoughts?

Since am not really certain if "Database Client " is the correct term ,
here is what i want to do .
I want a programm which would give me the ability to create a table ,
store data in it and at the
same time i want to be able to query the data stored in the table for a
