gnome-vfs-sftp rpm anyone?
by Stefan Rotsch
Hi all!
Anyone aware of a gnome-vfs-sftp rpm out there? I don't want to install
a bunch of development packages only for compiling such a small piece of
software.

Problem with CUPS
by Hesty P
Hello all,
I am having problem with cups after naively running
setup script for Samsung ML-1710 laser printer (USB).
The driver is available here:
http://www.samsung.com/Products/Printer/support/Download/driver/driver_Sa...
Afterwards, everytime starting cups, I get this error
message:
Starting cups: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/sbin/printconf-backend", line 7, in ?
import backend
File "/usr/share/printconf/util/backend.py", line
52, in ?
which = cups_import.which_spooler ()
File "/usr/share/printconf/util/cups_import.py",
line 191, in which_spooler
which = l.split ('.')[1].strip ()
IndexError: list index out of range
I cannot run redhat-config-printer,
redhat-config-printer-gui, printconf, etc. More
importantly, I cannot print to the printer :(
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Hesty

Re: Fedora give up
by mrada
Well that is worth a try I guess. I did use CD-RW discs and I did copy
at 8X speed. WHat speed
do you suggest?

GDM and XDM question.
by Benjamin Arai
Does Fedora use XDM or GDM for the logon manager and is it possible to
start the logon manager from init 3?

re: logging xscreensaver timeouts & unlocks
by Iain Buchanan
Hi all,
can anyone think of a way to log the time xscreensaver kicks in and
out? ie, when it times out and locks, I'd like to be able to see some
string in /var/log/something (or ~/something or whatever) and then when
I unlock it I'd like to see another string, timestamped of course.
I'm attempting to run a simple script to put the first login and last
logout into some sort of timetable for the day (because I never
remember!) but I can't see it logged anywhere.
TIA,

Problems with X system
by Alex Pankin
Hi,
I am wondering if someone can suggest how to fix my problem. I installed
Fedora Core yesterday. There were no problems during the installation
and first start. When I restarted the system, I can not login in video
mode. After the error message that the synchronization rate is out of
range, my monitor is turned off. I have ViewSonic VG800 LCD monitor with
ATI All-In-Wonder video card. The only error message that I found in
XFree86 log file is that DFP is not detected. Other odd thing is that
r128 driver instead of ati is used.
Thanks,
Alex.
