I am a final year grad student in Computer Sc ience. I was going through the ideas for GSOC 2013 and I saw yours (Java API/ABI changes checker). I liked the idea among a few others. However I saw the skill level being fairly high. I do have knowledge of Java but I'm not sure how much I have to know for this project. I did see the inheritance rules etc. but am sure there's more to that. Can you please tell me a bit more about what else in Java I need to know for this project. :)
I'm a graduate student from India and I'm excited about taking part in GSOC
I browsed through the Fedora ideas list for this year and would love to
code this summer for the project:
Dorrie: A web-interface for building Fedora spins/remixes
Please tell me how can I start and get involved.
I hope I'll get selected and have a great experience working with Fedora
I like the following project. Linux kernel project : Implement nfs/fscache
Can you tell me what should I do to propose the idea? Or what should be the
next step to work on that project?

Is there any issues with mailing list for the gmail users ??? Because i
sent a mail specifying my project idea selection for gsoc 2013, But didn't
receive it as a subscriber of the mailing list. So i'm bit worried and
would like to know whether you received my mail.
I am a computer engineering undergraduate at university of peradeniya, and
I am looking forward do a fedora project for gsoc 2013.
I went through the idea list and since the availability has not been
specified there, I picked up two project ideas and listed them in the
following acccording to my priority. So I would like to know the status of
these projects and how to get started.
* RHQ-agent to interface with Matahari* - under Applications for systems
* Maven FOSS Repository Extension* - under
Improving Fedora packaging, Linux system services
I am final year computer engineering undergraduate from University of
Peradeniya. I would like to join Fedora for GSOC 2013. I am searching
for the idea list for 2013 GSOC but I found it for 2012 GSOC on the
fedora GSOC page. Will it be updated or the idea list is same list in
GSoC 2013 is reaching and preparation has been already begun both the
organizations and students.
With the success of GSoC and GCI 2012 program , Fedora Summer Coding
Group would like to look forward to take part of the GSoC 2013 as
The main portal and the idea page is been setup. Please keep
adding your ideas to the new idea list and let me know your consent to
become a mentor or co-mentor, if you are interested.
Potential students can contact me (User:Bckurera) before contacting
the mentors to get an overview of the program.
In this year we are focusing on the quality rather the number of
projects and seek long time contribution of the students towards the
Fedora project. Further there will be projects with collaboration of
other Free Software organizations. Await for more info ......
Wishing you happy summer coding on behalf of the Fedora Summer Coding Group.
