JRE not recognised in eclipse IDE
by Yup Yup
Hi,
I installed eclipse-platform-3.5.2-2.fc13.x86_64 on Fedora 13.
Java has been installed on the system.
ca1@localhost ~]$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_18"
......
But, Java runtime is not recognised in the Eclipse IDE.
Under Menu....... Window>Preferences there are no installed JREs options.
Also, no Java project, class options in the menu is available.

Maven 3 script changes
by Stanislav Ochotnicky
I just built a new maven 3 package. It provides one more script called
mvn-rpmbuild.
mvn-rpmbuild should be used in spec files. It does same magic as
previously mvn-local (and mvn-jpp) did. I runs maven in offline mode and
therefore will not download artifacts under any circumstances, but it
will use those available in /usr/share/java. You also don't have to set
maven.repo.local variable, it is set automatically to $(pwd)/.m2. This
should save you a few keystrokes when writing spec files.
mvn-local on the other hand changed so that it WILL download artifacts
from remote repositories if they are not available locally. This is a
change compared to previous maven 3 packages. Please don't use mvn-local
in spec files. Nothing bad will happen, but it won't work anymore :-)
mvn-local uses $HOME/.m2 for artifacts so it should not conflict with
upstream maven too much if used together.
Another change is "maven.jpp" prefix change to "maven.local" for
properties. This means that -Dmaven.jpp.depmap.file=XXX will have to be
changed if you've been using it. Other than that I don't expect any
changes should be necessary.
FYI, maven 3 can now rebuild itself so expect proposal to change
guidelines so that we'll start using maven 3 to build packages unless
it's not compatible.
Happy java packaging :-)

java -jar display
by mike lancaster
Hi All,
I am new to Java and to the java-devel mailing list.
I am running NetBeans 6.9.1 on Fedora 14.
I am able to create a project in NetBeans and run it successfully.
When I run it from the command line it runs without error but does not
display the GUI.
I am able to run xclock without a problem.
I am not sure what I am missing?
My goal is to have the Java App listed under the Applications tab in the
Fedora Desktop.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Mike

Orphaning pmd
by Jerry James
Hello all,
I haven't used pmd for almost 2 years now. I think it is time to have
somebody who does use it take over maintainership. There are no open
bugs at this time.
Also, I intended to package pmd-eclipse-plugin at some point, but
never got around to it.
Let me know if you want this package, and I'll release it in pkgdb. Regards,
