JRE not recognised in eclipse IDE
by Yup Yup
Hi,
I installed eclipse-platform-3.5.2-2.fc13.x86_64 on Fedora 13.
Java has been installed on the system.
ca1@localhost ~]$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_18"
......
But, Java runtime is not recognised in the Eclipse IDE.
Under Menu....... Window>Preferences there are no installed JREs options.
Also, no Java project, class options in the menu is available.

You might get more response from the java-devel list. I will forward
this message to that list.

Java SIG meeting 21st of December (Tuesday) 16:00 UTC
by Stanislav Ochotnicky
Hi everyone,
We'll have our meeting a bit untraditionally due to Christmas looming
close-by :-)
Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 16:00 UTC in #fedora-meeting-1
Agenda is on wiki[1] (more things likely to be added tomorrow). Feel
free to update the agenda, but please make sure to attend the meeting in
that case :-)
I also forgot to send meeting minutes from our previous meeting[2].
Main topic:
* continuing work on Maven3 - custom resolver should be available by
next meeting
* tomcat5-6 migration continuing, few new missing packages added to be
fixed
* Packaging java webapps (wars, ears etc.) - with guest from Debian
* there are two basic approached to deploy (not start, just prepare
for starting) webapps. One is automated during install, second one
is tool-based. For now we didn't agree on a solution.
* wars should be installed "exploded" not as a zip (easier work with
dependencies)
* to be continued later
* New macro to simplify depmap installation was introduced
* few changes needed still (placement of fragment files for example)
* SIG tracker bug needs attention from time to time. Nothing to do?
Look there :-)

Er, hold on there. I'm the maintainer for that package; mef was
comaintainer. Anyway, it looks like it is not orphaned in packagedb,
so I guess we're okay. More comaintainers are welcome if anyone else
would like to pile on.

java 1.6 and epel6
by Ismael Olea
Hi:
Is correct for openjdk to be available at epel4 and 5 and not 6?[1], I
discovered this after this broken dependence message.

Cc: java-1.5.0-gcj-owner(a)fedoraproject.org
htmlparser has broken dependencies in the epel-6 tree:
On ppc64:
htmlparser-1.6-5.el6.1.noarch requires java >= 1:1.6.0
Please resolve this as soon as possible.

Orphaning of classpathx-jaf
by Stanislav Ochotnicky
Hi,
I noticed you recently retired classpathx-jaf. There are still quite a
few packages requiring this package though:
$ repoquery --whatrequires classpathx-jaf
classpathx-jaf-0:1.0-15.1.fc12.x86_64
ant-javamail-0:1.7.1-12.fc12.x86_64
ant-javamail-0:1.7.1-13.fc13.x86_64
axis-0:1.2.1-7.fc12.x86_64
classpathx-mail-0:1.1.1-9.1.fc12.x86_64
dumbster-0:1.6-9.fc12.noarch
ec2-api-tools-0:1.3.53907-3.fc14.noarch
javatar-0:2.5-2.fc13.x86_64
mx4j-1:3.0.1-9.9.fc12.x86_64
mx4j-1:3.0.1-9.11.fc13.noarch
tomcat5-0:5.5.27-7.4.fc12.noarch
+ gdata-java for BR
Unfortunately dead.package contents don't help me much:
$ cat dead.package
Obsolete package."
When you are retiring a package it's considered common courtesy to let
other stakeholders know about it. Care to elaborate what happened?

Changes to maven2-common-poms (missing depmaps coming when building)
by Stanislav Ochotnicky
Hi,
maven2-common-poms were in a bad need for cleanup. I deleted over 100
pom files today that:
a) are provided by packages themselves
b) should not be needed because we don't have that package anyway
Changes were also to maven2-versionless-depmap.xml spread over ~10 commits.
I am sure there will be problems causes by this, but it had to be done.
Problems should be easy to fix by adding compatibility depmaps to
packages themselves.
Thanks,

Re: [fedora-java] [java-sig-commits] [apache-commons-launcher] - Fix build due to changed ant groupId.

It's actually not needed to escape <,> and even / if you used different
delimiter (which you did). So this could be written as:
sed -i "s|<groupId>ant</groupId>|<groupId>org.apache.ant</groupId>|g"
build.xml
What is boggling me though is...there is no groupId in build.xml :-)
