Hi all,
Following a recent discussion in #fedora-ops , could I suggest the following with regard
to off-topic conversation in #fedora?
1) That we take a blanket view amongst all ops, that off-topic conversation is *not*
detrimental to the channel, provided it is done in an appropriate manner and not whilst
there are outstanding support issues awaiting to be dealt with. I, for one actually think
off-topic chit-chat can be beneficial to the overall atmosphere in the channel, and will
possibly encourage those who have problems (but possibly too scared to air them) to speak
up.
No problem, replying here again :)
We always had this rule of thumb, that if there's no support question
ongoing, chit-chat is allowed. As long as the chit-chat is friendly,
somehow computer-related or friendship talk. Discussions about
politics wasn't very welcome. It's anyways always dangerous talking
about politics ;)
