Was able to get a what was for me a very challenging problem with a
printer solved. The individuals who helped me, one in particular (nirik),
were very patient and willing to explore the problem with me and led me to
the solution. I learned a few things along the way, too.

Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
Filesystem had lost certain suid and sgid bits limiting what a user could
execute. Default responses were to reformat but due to fenris02 advice and
guidance I was able to fix the damage and rescue my Fedora system.
Thanks!

I can not recommend anything else, the Fedora community listens and then
helps. This makes all the difference when you hit an issue that's out of
your expertise.

In a earlier discussion in the irc support group meeting, it was suggested
that I give a heads up when there is a new release of the remix out and
thats what I am doing. I don't recall all the details that were asked but
http://omega.dgplug.org should have all the answers. If anything is
unclear, let me know and I can answer that. Thanks

Was having problems with glibc, apparently it came from the updates-
testing repo (must've done something wrong during fedora install).
Installing "Development tools" would give an error that glibc-
common-2.12.90-19 was installed but glibc-common-2.12.90-18 was required.
Got help very fast with an explanation how to fix it (grabbing
"Development Tools" from the updates-testing repo since trying to remove
glibc-common-2.12.90-19 was not appreciated by the system since it was
trying to remove the kernel ^^).
Thanks go out to #fedora and especially Southern_Gentlem who helped me on
this.

Proposed new Ops process
by Kevin Fenzi
Here's a new op's process:
a) New op is proposed/sponsored by an existing one. This sponsor also opens a trac ticket about the nomination.
(This ticket should note what channel this is for and any related into about the candidate).
b) existing ops gather feedback however they like (talking to new candidate, looking at logs, talking to each other, etc) for a period of 1 week.
c) existing ops can vote in the ticket or at the following weeks meeting.
d) simple majority of votes cast decides things.
e) then new candidate is given a 1 month trial. Voting process repeats at the end to make them perm.
Note that this process is for only
#fedora/#fedora-social/#fedora-ops/#fedora-unregistered. Other channels
are out of the scope of this and use their own process.
Thoughts?
