kmahjongg not working after updating today
by Wes James
I have fedora 24 mate-compiz and I updated and rebooted and now kmahjongg
runs, but the area where the tiles are supposed to be is just gray. I
noticed that libkmahjongg was updated:

Could that cause this problem?
Now that I think of it, I could go find the previous lib file and put it
back. Is there a dnf command to go back to a previous version of a package?
Thanks,

BIOS Boot partition
by Oliver Paukstadt
Hi
I did a f24 installation using swraid on 4TB disks (predefined swraid
because I am still unhappy with complex tasks and the level disk
abstraction in anaconda, but thats not the point).
I was not able to write bios boot twice (sda and sdb), it was only
written on sda (there is plenty of space on sdb as well).
Anaconda partitioner did not allow to define two biosboot partitions.
Now I want to make the setup fully redundant (booting even without
sda) and so I need to setup biosboot on sdb as well.
With gparted I can create the 1 MB partition on sdb but it does not
support type bios boot.
blivet does not support creating a 1MB partion on sdb as far as I can
see.
Any other tools to write biosboot partions?
Workaround might be: create an unformatted partition in gparted and
copy biosboot to it (dd from sda-partition or is there a source file
anywhere in the filesystem?)
Are there any grub2 actions required afterwards?
Any other ideas?
Greetings
Oliver

processes sates values
by Angelo Moreschini
Hi,
Audacity not respond anymore on my computer...
That in not a problem for me now.. I only would kill his process.
Using the command ps ax I get the list of the processes and also their
state (S, S<, SN, SNsl, Ssl, etc...).
I would ask what is the state of a process whose program program non
respond anymore???
And also what (generally) the value of states of processes (S, S<, SN,
SNsl, Ssl, etc...) means ??
Thank you

[OT] Usage of VirualBox from UnitedRpms for installing VB VM's in F24
by Joachim Backes
Hi all F24 users,
Having problems to use a simple CD/DVD drive for the usage in VirtualBox
from UnitedRpms: The correspondent storage dialog only accepts iso files
for a virtual CD/DVD. Devices as /dev/sr0 are not accepted.
No such problems with VB from oracle.
Anybody sees this too?
Kind regards

RedHat popup advert
by Howard Howell
Hi, guys,
I was just looking at some links as I do everyday, and came
across this one:
http://venturebeat.com/2016/07/17/forget-learning-to-code-every-employe
e-should-know-data-analysis/
Where a popup advert for RedHat popped up and covered more than
one third of the page. Moreover, the close X was on the right top
margin and quite small. I have vision issues, and it took me some time
to find and close that ad so I could read the article. It's shameful
for a high technology company like RedHat to resort to such tactics.
Because we Fedora folks are supporting RedHat, it is also a bit of a
reflection on us as well. Please guys, let them know that this is not
good. At least put the X where it belongs, but better still, no popup
ads!!!

can't use tftp
by ranshalit@gmail.com
Hello,
I am trying to install tftp on 6.8 version.
But I can't pull any file from tftp.
1. /etc/xinet.d/conf:
service tftp
{
disable = no
socket_type = dgram
protocol = udp
wait = yes
user = nobody
server = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd
server_args = -c -p -s /var/lib/tftpboot
per_source = 11
cps = 100 2
flags = IPv4
}
2. I've start the service:
service xinetd start
3. I've chmod of /var/lib/tftpboot and its files.
4. I've also tried to disable firewall:
# /etc/init.d/iptables save
# /etc/init.d/iptables stop
# chkconfig iptables off
But I still can't pull any file from tftp.
Is there any idea what's wrong ?

version 2 liberation fonts install?
by Neal Becker
I'm looking here:
https://fedorahosted.org/liberation-fonts/
I'm interested in trying these new fonts, but don't see how to install.
I thought maybe leave existing rpm packages for liberation v1 fonts (dnf
would want to remove a crapload of packages to uninstall them) and just put
them in personal, but if I try the font manager (kde version I think), it
refuses to install them saying that liberation fonts are already installed
(which is true).
Any ideas?

The selected menu items cannot be seen in gtk3 applications
by Paul Smith
Dear All,
I am running F24 on my machine, and having problems with gtk3
applications. A very annoying problem is that the background color of
menus seem to coincide with the highlighted menu item. So, one cannot
see which menu item is being selected. Any workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

chroot
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
I wanted to make a chroot, and I get:
Error, do this: mount -t proc proc /proc
/bin/basename: missing operand
Try '/bin/basename --help' for more information.
In the past, chroot was a working command (at least to make
to check). Does it not work properly anymore ?
Thank for your help.
