new bluetooth problem
by Roger K. Wells
After upgrading Fedora 19 this week my Bluetooth mouse won't work after
waking up from suspension.
I can uninstall & reinstall or do a reboot
Machine: Thinkpad X220
uname -a: Linux rwells-lnx 3.11.1-200.fc19.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Sep 14
15:04:51 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
This has worked as expected on this machine with F16, F17, and F19 until
this upgrade.
Any thoughts about where to look?
I tried booting the previous kernel to no avail so I expect it is some
other upgraded component.
TIA

desktop/server fedora versions
by Robin Storch
Were the core Fedora versions (up to core 7) the server versions? Why are all the newer releases referred to as desktop versions? Are there server versions of the new releases somewhere?

Kernel 3.11 and VMware 9 -
by Bob Goodwin
Where can I find a patch to permit running VMware Workstation 9 with the
most recent Fedora-19 Kernel? My effort with Google produced nothing I
had confidence in. The VMware app. is convenient to use as well as
expensive but I'm beginning to think it's not a good choice for those of
us running Fedora. In the normal progression of updates kernel 3.11 will
eventually fall off the list ...

no operating system found error
by Phil Dobbin
Hi,
I've been using Fedora 19 quite happily for a while now but today when I
booted her I got an error message along the lines of '62: No operating
system found' & she refused to boot.
I'm guessing it's a Grub problem but I've no clue as to go about doing
requisite repair work, even after spending an hour Googling the problem.
If anybody could help me out, I'd be eternally grateful.
Cheers,
Phil...

Netbeans - what is its status in Fedora-19?
by Timothy Murphy
I read in <http://wiki.netbeans.org/Category:Fedora:HowTo>
"Important: NetBeans 7.0 or newer NetBeans packages
will not be a part Fedora repositories anymore".
On the other hand I read in
<http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/NetBeans_7.3#Summary>
"NetBeans IDE 7.3 is a significant update,
especially considering that last packaged version for Fedora was 7.0,
which was removed from F18.
The goal of this feature is to reinstate NetBeans package in Fedora,
and update it to newest upstream version."
What is the present and future intention?
And if it is intended to re-introduce netbeans into Fedora,
when is this likely to appear?

10 key gone crazy
by Mike Wright
Hi all,
I have a system with five virtual machines, all of which share the
keyboard and mouse with the host. On one of them the 10-key portion of
the keyboard doesn't work right. I know it is not hardware because it
works correctly on the host and the other four VMs.
Specifically, it acts as if numlock is half on and half off.
On an xterm single key presses on 8,6,4,2 cause A,B,C,D to display.
When auto-repeat begins they revert back to their respective digits.
On a GUI such as galculator the 8,6,4,2 act as the cursor keys for
up,right, left, down but the rest of the keys act as numeric but again,
once auto-repeat kicks in, it reverts back to correct behavior.
Rebooting that particular VM doesn't change/correct the behavior.
Anybody have any idea what is going on or where to start looking?
Thanks for any help,
Mike Wright

Fedora 19 and hdmi sound works on Toshiba but not HP
by Gregory P. Ennis
Everyone,
I have an HP 2000-2a22NR notebook with an hdmi interface with a new
install of fc19. The hdmi video works perfectly, but I am unable to get
the sound to the hdmi interface. When I activate 'sound settings' I am
able to see sound output device that is labeled "
Speakers - Built-in Audio
I do not see an hdmi interface option on this screen
When i use aplay -i I get the following results :
> **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
> card 0: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
> Subdevices: 1/1
> Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
> card 1: Generic_1 [HD-Audio Generic], device 0: ALC269VC Analog [ALC269VC Analog]
> Subdevices: 1/1
> Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
I have another fresh install of F19 on a Toshiba Satellite C55-A5249 and
the hdmi video and sound work perfectly.
On the Toshiba there is an hdmi sound option present on the 'sound
settings' screen, and the results of aplay - are :
> **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
> card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC269VB Analog [ALC269VB Analog]
> Subdevices: 1/1
> Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
> card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
> Subdevices: 1/1
> Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
>
I would sure like to get the HP to work as well as the Toshiba. If any
of you any ideas I would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Greg Ennis
