Xcursor viewer?
by Tom Horsley
So, I wanted to examine the cursors in the default theme to see
if they were the source of the horrible looking things I see
in firefox, etc.
Apparently they are Xcursor(3) format files.
Any viewer tools for these things available? All I can
find are tools to create them from images, not tools
to look at 'em after they are created.

Does kaffeine work for DVB?
by Roberto Ragusa
Hi,
is there anyone having success with Kaffeine for DVB-T
or DVB-S?
On a freshly installed F14 (+rpmfusion stuff) all the
tuning part works, you can select a channel, see the
name of the show on the display and listen some instants
of audio. No video and the console logs a message:
kaffeine-xbu - Segmentation fault
It all points to something wrong in interfacing with
the MPEG codec. Forums have people complaining but no
solution.

Is there a utility for either rpm or yum that can read its corresponding

SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/colord from getattr access on the file /usr/local/Brother/sane/models3/ext4.ini.
by Lawrence E Graves
SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/colord from getattr access on the file /usr/local/Brother/sane/models3/ext4.ini.
***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ***************************
If you believe that colord should be allowed getattr access on the ext4.ini file by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# grep colord /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
# semodule -i mypol.pp

adding boot time options to the sg driver does not work
by Lancashire, Pete
I'm trying to change def_reserved_size from the default of 32768 to what I belive is the maximum
of 1048576 bytes ( 1 Megabyte ) upon boot
In /etc/modprobe.d I createf the file sg.conf with the line
options sg def_reserved_size=1048579
did modprobe -c, it reconized the new file and did not throw an error.
I then rebooted
cat /proc/scsi/sg/def_reserved_size returns 32768
What am I doing wrong ?

Not enough info, so no point
by n2xssvv.g02gfr12930
For my PC
Fedora 15 update fails
Fedora 15 install CD fails to boot
Fedora 15 Live KDE fails to boot
All fail to finish initialising hardware.
smolt page :

Result : I shall not be updating to Fedora 15 any time soon
I provide this information reluctantly based on my previous experience
posting to this community, which laughingly suggests it provides

F15 connection sharing
by Pasha R
I'm trying to figure out the connection sharing option in F15. I
connect to internet using PPPoE, and, till now, I used "old" network
configuration (and disabled network manager) to setup a static IP
address and PPPoE connection, and then used masquerading to share
connection to other computers on the network.
In F15 I can't find a way to make such configuration and also can't
find an option in NM to enable connection sharing for DSL connection.
Is there anything I'm missing?

F15 - Video problems [SEMI-SOLVED]
by John Wendel
I finally found the source of my video problems with F15.
My 1680x1050 monitor was hooked to a Belkin KVM. Somehow, this ended up
making the system think I had 2 displays, a 1680x1050 and a 1280x1024
(no, these is no 1280x1024 monitor, I assume the KVM is braindead). Of
course, KMS used the wrong display info. I discovered this by running
xrandr with no arguments.
After removing the KVM (which I don't actually need), the video is fine.
If I needed the KVM, well that would be a problem.
I hope this helps someone.

John
