Anyway, I'll also send to you the "src.rpm" files, the "debuginfo" packages
and "kmess.spec" file I used:
"src.rpm":
32 Bit: http://goo.gl/mdQEC
64 Bit: http://goo.gl/u01mq
"debuginfo" packages:
32 Bit: http://goo.gl/NOCPO
64 Bit: http://goo.gl/KEP1y
spec file:
"kmess.spec": http://goo.gl/cbLyT
Hope these things help the official Maintainer...
Have a Nice day!

F-14 Daylight Savings Time - Fail
by John Wendel
My F-11 and F-13 (XFCE) boxes did the DST switch, but my F-14 / KDE box
didn't. Then the KDE control thingy wouldn't let me reset the time ("you
don't have permission"). Finally did "sudo date -s", but I wonder what
caused this failure.

AES-NI useful?
by Chris Smart
Anyone know how useful AES-NI are in new Intel CPUs for encrypting
one's hard drive? Is it well supported in the kernel, and does the
hardware implementation make a lot of difference (I'm guessing so, as
that's the point, but can't find any specific references..)

fix logrotate buffer overflow
by Colin McCabe
This patch fixes a buffer overflow in logrotate. The diff was done
against trunk on http://svn.fedorahosted.org/svn/logrotate/
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I didn't see a mailing
list mentioned on the project page at
https://fedorahosted.org/logrotate/
Fixed version with proper line breaks

"Dummy Output" sound device for new user
by Fred Brier
One user on a Fedora14 x86_64 install has sound. The Sound Preferences
on the Output tab shows an "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" device. I
created and switched to a new user. Sound Preferences shows only a
"Dummy Output" device and does not play sound. How do I fix this?
Thank you.

yum error
by Jeffrey Ross
Running F14 and when I issue the command "sudo yum check-update" I will
often but not always get the following in response:
$sudo yum check-update
Loaded plugins: downloadonly, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Could not get metalink
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-f14&arch...
error was
14: PYCURL ERROR 6 - ""
Any thoughts? I quick search showed the same error with the debug repo
but this is obviously not the debug repository.
Thanks, Jeff

problem with nfs ls latency during high IO
by Judith Flo Gaya
Hello,
I hope this is the list to write to, if it's not, please let me know.
Here is the problem:
I was told some days ago that my problem with my NFS system is related
to this bug, as the problem that I'm experiencing is quite similar.
The bug : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=469848
The link itself explains quite well my issue, I'm just trying to copy a
big file (36Gb) to my nfs server and when I try to get an ls -l command
to the same folder where I'm copying data (within the same machine), the
command gets stuck for some time. This amount of time changes from a few
secs to SOME minutes (9' is the current record).
I can live with some seconds of delay, but minutes is something quite
unacceptable.
As this is an nfs server running on a red hat system (an HP ibrix x9300
with Red Hat 5.3 x86_64, kernel 2.6.18-128) I was told to apply the
patch suggested from the bug on my clients.
Unfortunately my clients are running fedora core 14 (x86_64, kernel
2.6.35.6-45) and I can't find the file that they are referring to, the
file fs/nfs/inode.c is not there and I can't find the rpm that contains it.
As the bug is a very very old one, I took it for granted that is already
applied to fedora, but I wanted to make sure that it is by looking at
the file.
Can you help me on this? am I wrong in my supposition (is the patch
really applied)? is it possible that my problem is somewhere else?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help, please let me know if I can
provide any more information.
j
