Bugzilla 513386 - Removing large file kills JFS
by moodyjunk@frontiernet.net
This problem seems to have been written against FC11. How can I tell if it exists in FC12?
I've moved to FC12 and all my data filesystems are JFS. Mount fails with "unknown filesystem type 'jfs'" even if a new filesystem is created with jfs_mkfs on this system and jfs_fsck reports it as clean. So, I can create the jfs filesystem, and validate it is good, I just can't mount and use it.

Explanation of icons, where?
by Alexander Volovics
Hello,
The 'Processes' option of 'System Monitor' has a column for
'Session'. This shows some icons as entries for some processes
(for example 'gnome-keyring-daemon', 'gnome-panel', etc).
One with little dots(cirkels), another resembling a traffic stop sign,
etc. What is the meaning of these icons and where is this explained?
(I am talking about Fed 13).

Evolution Update Fails
by Jonathan Ryshpan
The system has informed me via the Update Applet that evolution needs to
be upgraded to 2.30.2-1, but the upgrade fails with these messages:
could not do simulate: empathy-2.30.1.1-1.fc13.x86_64 requires libedataserver-1.2.so.11()(64bit)
gnome-panel-2.30.0-1.fc13.x86_64 requires libedataserver-1.2.so.11()(64bit)
nautilus-sendto-2.28.4-1.fc13.x86_64 requires libedataserver-1.2.so.11()(64bit) : Success - empty transaction
The system is x86_64 running Fedora-13 with all upgrades (except this one)
Is this problem just for me, or are others seeing it?
Thanks - jon

Explain how! [See my older reply in your "clock-applet broken" thread.]
Yum's --skip-broken only _excludes_ packages. It does not ignore dependencies.
It would exclude the new evolution packages, since installed packages still
depend on the older installed evolution libraries/packages.

Dogtag @ fc13
by J.Witvliet@mindef.nl
Hi all,
I noticed that dogtag is shipped along on the FC13-dvd.
Is this supposed to be working OOTB?
All related packages installed without any hitch,
But when I try to start one of the daemons from /etc/init.d,
They complain that thereis no "registered subsystem instance"
Fair enough; but when I type pkiconsole I get a message that I should use a browser at
https://<hostname>:9445/ca
But when I try this for localhost, it fails, because according to lsof -I, nobody is listening on this port.
Anybody who can tell me what prior configuration must be done before I can use pkiconsole?
Kind regards, Hans

[SOLVED] Firefox 3.6.4 and SElinux (F12)
by GianPiero Puccioni
Hi,
Problem was: a new installation from the tar file of Firefox 3.6.4 gave a weird SElinux
error "/usr/local/firefox/firefox-bin defaultSELinux type is usr_t,
but its current type is usr_t" and suggested "/sbin/restorecon
'/usr/local/firefox/firefox-bin'" which didn't work. The new firefox 3.6.6 has the same
problem.
The solution, appeared on the Firefox Knowledge base is:
chcon -t texrel_shlib_t /path/to/firefox/libxul.so
Regards,
GianPiero

Native ZFS in Fedora?
by Valent Turkovic
Have you heard that it is now possible to compile additional ZFS
module? That way Fedora can get native ZFS support. Has anybody done
this? If you have please post step by step instructions, much
appreciated.

F13 - Advanced Volume control
by Federico Marziali
Hello to the list again...
While I'm still fighting with the display and nvidia drivers, I've
come across another problem on my Sony Vaio, this time with the sound
capture.
Basically I can't get any of my microphones to record any input, nor
the laptop built-in one, nor by connecting an external one.
On F11 I fixed this by playing with the sound-card switches (I had to
check the switch "3D Control"), but the problem is that I don't find
the same entry under F13 - System - Preferences - Advanced Volume
Control. The command was gst-mixer, if I'm not wrong...
I tried to play also with the different parameters available through
the command 'alsamixer -c0', but without success...any hints?

A message from the Fedora Board to all of our users
by Jon Stanley
There have been recent discussions on this list surrounding the fact
that users feel left out of the Fedora decision making process. As the
Fedora leadership, we'd like to do nothing more than engage the user
community as key participants in constructive dialog around the
direction that Fedora Project takes.
As you may know, Fedora's strategic direction is led by the Board[1].
In stark contrast with most boards, we encourage open and active
communications with all of our constituents, and cannot operate in
isolation. We hold public meetings twice a month, which anyone is
welcome to join (or read the transcript afterwards, if the time is
inconvenient or you otherwise cannot attend).
Most importantly, we also have a public mailing list,
advisory-board(a)lists.fedoraproject.org[2]. The Board strives to
conduct most of it's business on this list, save for that which deals
with sensitive legal or personal issues which cannot be discussed in
public. As we strive to create a culture in Fedora where constructive
engagement is preferred, and non-constructive engagement is strongly
discouraged, there will be discussions on this list as to how best to
achieve that goal. We welcome and encourage the community (that means
YOU!) to participate constructively in these discussions by joining
the list and providing input.
It's important to note that the advisory-board list is not a forum for
discussing bugs or technical features of Fedora, but rather about
high-level project governance and community and contributor
empowerment.
We look forward to seeing some new faces around the list!
Jon, for the Fedora Board

Thunderbird 3.1 and enigmail
by SternData
Does anyone have enigmail 1.1 working with Thunderbird 3.1?
I've installed tbird 3.1 in /usr/local and updated enigmail to version
1.1. When I start, it says it's unable to start gpg-agent. gpg-agent is
installed, from the rpm gnupg2-2.0.14-2.fc13.i686
