kmail stopped to work
by Maurizio Marini
Sorry to open a new thread, but i have not access to my mail :( and i
cannot continue this thread.
I am using webmail to write thsi message.
I have F11 and i have already enabled Nempomuk on
System Setting/Advanced/Desktop Search
some days ago, but Nepomuk keeps to complain always as ususal.
This morning kmail stopped, i restarted it but on notify icon does
apperas a message that roughly says: i cannot find mysql backend
database 'redland' and Nepomuk wil not started; for security reasons
and than it is impossible to read as another notify message cover this.
Contextually, if thsi may help, dirmngr goes to 100% of cpu, and i
cannot clcik on kmail window, i can only close it forcing to quit.
I have mail from 2002 and any help will be very apreciated

akonadi startup errors
by Kevin Kempter
Hi All;
I've gotten no replies from kde-linux, so I'll ask here:
I upgraded to KDE 4.4 yesterday. I get this error EVERY time I start Kmail:
[ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't
exist
I've tried removing the .local/share/alonadi directory and rebooting with no
luck.
Can anyone point me in the right direction per how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

grub and serial
by Mark Ryden
Hello,
I am trying to enable serial console by editing GRUB boot loader.
What I want is to be able to view in the boot messages of a machine A
which is connected with a serial cable to machine B. (I want to view
these messages on machine B)
I found this link:
http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-serial-console-howto/
Following this link I added these lines to /etc/grub/grub.conf:
serial --unit=1 --speed=19200
terminal --timeout=8 console serial
(I know that still I should add console=tty0 console=ttyS1,19200n8 to
the kernel line in grub.conf)
When I rebooted the machine, it hangs.
I am well aware of that it deals with centos/rhel
Any ideas why?
Is there a different way to achieve it ?
Rgs,
Mark

KMail
by John Aldrich
WTF is up with KMail? Ever since I installed a bunch of updates this
morning, KMail started having problems. I got a brilliant idea and
decided to see if restarting KMail would solve the problem. Well, it
didn't. It caused more problems. Now I can't send *anything* and
there's a message on my system (at home -- logged into it from remote)
stating "starting akonadi server." Now WTF is that and why is it not
starting???

Dear Ash,
When I tried to install pear from the net into our server ( FC11 64Bit )
as the following cmd :
[root]# yum install pear
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
Setting up Install Process
No package pear available.
Nothing to do
[root]#
So, I ask for the solution here ( for help )...
Hope anyone or you can help me...
