Hi Jeff,
If you did the update with yumex, there is/hasbeen a problem that it
doesn't complete the update correctly. The suggested solution (worked
for me) is to
a) boot with the old kernel,
b) remove the new kernel with yumex,
c) install the new kernel using yum.
Hope it helps

What's going on with the 'single stepping ..."? Everything was compiled

line number information'?

Nothing is mentioned in recent posts at <fedora-infrastructure-list>.

wireless N and nm-applet - f12
by Genes MailLists
f12 - updated as of today.
Anyone else notice that the information popup (right click & select
"Connection Information") for nm-applet shows 'Unknown' for current
speed when connected to 802.11n - but for 11g it works fine ?

Lots of possibilities. Hauppauge alone makes about 5 different tuners,
USB, PCI-E or PCI. A HVR950 is about $100.00 and is supported by the v4l
project. Works fine. I have one running here.
Another choice the the HDHomeRun from Silicon Dust. Comes in 2 tuner or
single tuner versions. It is an external box and talks to your computer
over the network.
If you need more information, there are a large number of pages on the
mythwiki at: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Category:Video_capture_cards
describing the pros and cons of a large number of video cards, all of
which work under at least mythtv. By their nature that also means that
they will probably work with other front ends: kaffeine, xine, vlc etc.

Pulseaudio update is barfing
by Sam Varshavchik
The recent update to pulseaudio-0.9.21 looks like a dud. Brief sound effects
play fine. But I have the gmail notifier Firefox plugin configured to play
/usr/share/sounds/purple/login.wav, a slightly longer sound effect, as the
new mail notification. After the pulseaudio update, Firefox gets through
about 2 or three chimes, before Firefox freezes solid.
stracing the pulseaudio process shows that it's not doing anything. Killing
the pulseaudio process unstucks Firefox. If, instead of killing pulseaudio I
kill Firefox instead, the pulseaudio process pegs itself to 100% CPU. Bad
karma.
Downgraded to pulseaudio-0.9.19, everything's ok now.
Weren't there a few intermediate releases of pulseaudio? The updates
directory seems to keep only the most recent update of each package. I
would've downgraded to the previous errata release, but there weren't none,
so I had to roll back to the initial F12 package.
Someone else already reported pulseaudio breakage in bug 559032, but later
followed up with a mea culpa thinking that it was his flash that was broken.
But I do believe that there's a pulseaudio bug here, so I provided more info
to reproduce this bug.

Two screwey things about wwthe Firefox on my F12 machine
by Aaron Konstam
On one of my F12 machines the following two things are happening.
Sometimes when I first open Firefox I get the display in the link below.
http://cs.trinity.edu/~akonstam/Screenshot-Restore-Session-Mozilla-Firefo...
Can anyone explain what this display means.
The other on is so idiosyncratic that I doubt a comprehensive
explanation can be offered but maybe some hints of where to look for the
answer might help. I can (as far as I have tested) open up any webpage I
want except the webpage:
http://www.tiaa-cref.org
When I try to open the above site begins to load and then Firefox
crashes. Opening the site in konqueror works. Any thoughts.

When did X go back to vt7?
by Patrick O'Callaghan
The X server traditionally ran on console vt7, till a while back someone
decided to move it to vt1. Now that I'm used to that, they've moved it
back to vt7 again. What's going on?

TV Tuner for Digital Broadcast Recommendation ?
by Armelius Cameron
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone could give recommendation for TV tuner that would
work with Fedora 12 and can get the over-the-air digital broadcast in the U.S.
I don't need any fancy feature just the basic, in fact, the more inexpensive
the better.
Any recommendation ?
I've looked around but haven't found anything useful / definite
Thanks

F12 video resolution setting - running on VirtualBox
by barry yu
I installed VirtualBox (Latest download from Sun) inside Windows 7 and
then installed F12, even with Guest Addition installed, still the
highest resolution is 1024x768, since the Xorg.conf is no longer
available, is there any way to customize the video resolution manually?
would appreciate any indication or lead for sulution.
