system time shifts after reboot
by Anoop
Hi All,
Whenever I reboot my Fedora 10 machine, the system time jumps to
current time + 05:30. Looks time it is jumping by timezone offset IST
(GMT+ 5:30). The hardware clock has the correct time after reboot
though. I am not using the UTC clock option.
Link '/etc/localtime' points to the correct timezone file and file
/etc/sysconfig/clock also contains the correct timezone.
Any ideas, what might have gone wrong?
Thanks,

F10 64-bit - Wired Ethernet Problems with DNS
by Rick Bilonick
I installed F10 64-bit on a Dell quad computer without any problems.
(The computer had been running F5.) I did a fresh install on a new hard
drive. eth0 worked fine under F5. I can get a connection using ssh and
IP addresses but I cannot get DNS to work, even though I'm using the
same DNS addresses (which I can ping). When I use the gui and put in the
netmask (255.255.255.0), the gui constantly overwrites it. To get any
connection, I have to go into the eth0 config file and set the netmask.
(The gui always replaces the netmask IP with either the computer's IP or
gateway IP - don't remember which.) I can't get this working so I can do
an update.
Any idea on what is going wrong?

KDE 4.2 (Updates-Testing) 1st Impressions
by homburg@tips-Q.com
In spite of all my bitching, KDE has become a stable and
usable desktop. 4.2 adds some new widgets including a great
weather app and a 3.x style quick-start which returns icons
to the panel. Folder view on the panel is now a better
"quick access" widget. There are also some new monitor
widgets. Overall 4.2 seems tighter. Quanta has now been
updated to the 4 branch. From time to time I was having
some right click inconsistency particularly with Dolphin.
That is gone. I'm sure there is much under the hood that I
haven't noticed as well as other goodies.
A reminder that this is still in the testing repo. Thus
YMMV.

Re: fglrx drivers from rpmfusion-updates-testing
by Leslie S Satenstein
I just used the ones from update, and only one problem or three.
Flicker on viewing avi files, if compiz is executing.
Cannot do a switch user, or from the command line, issue an init 3.

Hi,
I installed the latest fglrx drivers from updates-testing as I was
having some minor problems with the previous release. But since then
the monitor keeps flickering intermittently. Is un-installing the
current ones, and re-installing the previous drivers the only way to
roll-back, or is there a more subtle way to do this?
$ yumno list installed|egrep 'fglrx|-ati'
akmod-fglrx.x86_64 8.573-1.9.1.fc10 installed
kmod-fglrx-2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.x86_64.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-ati.x86_64 6.9.0-63.fc10 installed
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx.x86_64 8.573-1.9.1.fc10 installed
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-libs.x86_64 8.573-1.9.1.fc10 installed
TIA

problem with fedora-list reply
by gmspro
Hi,
I have some problem with fedora-list.
If I reply a message it does not contain this character ">" at left.
It is supposed to be automatically put at left.(fedora-list digest selected)
What should I do?
Example:
>00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 02)
>Fast Ethernet Controller (rev 14)
