did. I referred the OP to Mauriat Miranda's page where the

the same as what Tom mentioned

a pain when
dealing with protected networks. Sometimes one has to retype
the password(s)
to known networks.

SELinux and mysqld
by Sieranski, Greg
When I start up mysql I receive the following alert from SELinux:
SELinux is preventing mysqld (mysqld_t) "search" to ./gps
(user_home_dir_t).
I did some searching around and came across a possible solution.
yum -y install selinux-policy-targeted-sources
vi /etc/selinux/targeted/src/policy/domains/misc/local.te
add the following rules:
allow mysqld_t user_home_dir_t read;
Then:
cd /etc/selinux/targeted/src/policy/
make reload
Before I do this I wanted to see If I am adding the correct rule? Can
anyone tell me if this is the right way to resolve the issue?
TIA,
Greg Sieranski

screensaver 'clock'
by Gene Heskett
Is freezing after a few hours & made me think the machine had crashed because
it should have shut the monitor off after 15 minutes, but moving the mouse
brought everything back. Spooky.

Mounting Motorola A1200 in Fedora 9
by Amitakhya Phukan
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all!
I am facing a strange problem. In previous versions of Fedora (till
F-7), I could mount my MotoMing phone using a USB Cable in my laptop for
data exchange. Now in the F-9 box, I am unable to mount the phone. I
have set the USB mode of the phone to Mass Storage mode. Surprisingly,
in RHEL5.2 Client, I can still get the phone mounted and I can do data
transfer.
What could be the possible reasons that I am not able to mount the phone
in F9 ? Any suggestions ?
Regards,
Amit.

network configuration file
by Christoph Höger
Hi,
when I want a debian based system to start up an ethernet device
automagically on boot, I simply edit /etc/network/interfaces.
Is there a similar way on fedora to have a single file where static
informations go?

christoph

NetworkManager and static routes
by Timothy Selivanow
Is it possible to set up a static route using NetworkManager? At /this/
moment I do not need it, but I will be needing when I get a laptop in
the next couple of weeks.
What I need is to be able to easily switch between a wired network (that
has two separate IP addresses, and a static route) and random wireless
networks. I have noticed a dearth of documentation for NetworkManager,
and not much on Google either...
