How to use Apache 2 with HTTPS only?
by Vinicius
Hello,
I'm using FC5 and Apache 2. Apache 2 is using SSL, but I would like to
serve only HTTPS.
How to use Apache 2 with HTTPS only, please?
A snippet of my ssl.conf:
"
<VirtualHost _default_:443>
SSLEngine on
SSLOptions +StrictRequire
<Directory />
SSLRequireSSL
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>
"
TIA,
Vinicius.

OT: knowledgebase application
by Jamie Bohr
I am looking for a simple knowbase application to use for my IT department
at work. Right now we are looking at phpbb which is good but I not too sure
how good of a knowledge base it would make. I have googled around but would
like some opinions from you all.
Thank you,

Fetchmail problems
by Anne Wilson
From time to time I get fetchmail problems, and don't understand what the
error messages are telling me:
fetchmail -a
fetchmail: socket error while fetching from pop3.tiscali.co.uk
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)
Frequently this is followed by:
fetchmail: another foreground fetchmail is running at 18351.
Is this a Tiscali problem, or is there something I can do about it?

IPTABLES question
by Michael Yep
Hello
I know that the preferred way of controlling access is to use
whitelists, but for my case I'd like to use IP blacklisting.
Now using a script like
#!/bin/bash
if [ -f badips.txt ]
then
for BAD_IP in `cat badips.txt`
do
iptables -A INPUT -s $BAD_IP -j DROP
done
else
echo "Can't read badips.txt"
fi
I have like 96 banned IPs so far. I am wondering about the possible
performance hit on my system, and the limits of iptables.
What if I have thousands?

I presume that the problem is that "e100_probe: Cannot obtain PCI

to do about it...
The machine works fine under Windows XP, and FC4 worked fine before the
upgrade.
Can anyone help?
Yours

Question on using projector with Dell Inpiron 6000 & FC5...
by Guillermo de Jesús Hoyos Rivera (gmail)
Dear listers:
I want to make a presentation using a projector. I have FC5,
installed in a Dell Inspiron 6000.
I have tried configuring the double monitor facility, and connecting
a PC monitor to my laptop (both, while the computer is on, and turning on
the computer with the monitor attached to it), and I have had no success.
I have also tried by configuring single monitor in my FC5
installation, and turning on the computer with the monitor attached to it.
Same results.
Finally I have naively tried to use the Fn+F8 key combination (to
redirect the output of the display in Windows). None of the previously
stated tries worked.
Does some one of you know how to do this?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Guillermo Hoyos.
