It looks like the SCSI ID being assigned to these drives is the same.
The ordered triple (Channel, ID, LUN) should be unique for each device.
Don't know how this can happen since it should never happen.
Unfortunately, all of the relics here don't use SATA drives so I can't
take this any further. Also, it looks like the system sorts it all out
by the time you get a command prompt so everything eventually works; you
just can't do things automatically during the boot process.
Past my bedtime here. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Dave

Yep. You can grab them out of the fedora devel branch.

fc6, clustering, gfs2 and you (well.. me)
by Greg Swift
Where can one find information about how fc6 handles clustering and gfs?
For the most part it seemed fairly self-explanatory once I found the
package changes.. no big deal, but I can't get gfs to mount on my second
box. (Yes, I realize that a 2 box cluster is not idea, nor is it
supported by rh in rhel, but it fits this application, and its not a
long term solution at this point).
and before anyone complains, I have looked around. I found the logs
where they talked about consolidating the packages, and i found the
"what is gfs" setup. redhat's cluster page wasnt very helpful either.
and i do have a 4 node cluster doing basically the same thing working
just fine w/ rhel4u4, so its not my first time I just cant figure out
why this one won't mount. It has to be something I'm doing wrong w/ the
gfs2 stuph.

Login and dns lookups
by Dan Track
Hi
Could someone please explain why the login process is dependent on the
dns servers? basically my query arose because one server couldn't
reach its dns server as a consequence logging in took over 2 minutes.
How can remove its depedency on the dns server?
Thanks in advance

Re: FC 5 can't fine CDROM during installation - Core 2 DUO motherboard

master or slave, and the hard drive 200g sata, same thing happened.
> .... FC6 went well to the end and asked for 2nd CD! I tried FC5 in
same machine again, it just could not find the CDROM ! Now I believe
that versions before FC6 ( In Fedora family) may have proble with Core 2
DUO motherboards, and in MS windows anything before XP ( even in XP may
have some application problems - but I can prove) may have compatibility
problem as well. Seems now only FC6 and Vista can install into this
machine without problem, I am going to download the entire set of FC6 to
try this machine out and might post my new findings.
I don't think it has anything to do with the motherboard or core duo. I
had the same problem with one of my boxes, an ASUS mb with P4. I
eventually got around it by removing the IDE cdrom and using a SCSI
CD/DVDrom.
I had the same problem with an IBM THinkpad T40. I got around that by
using a PXE boot and a tftp server on the Asus box.
The problem is somewhere in kudzu or anaconda. probably the latter and
probably has something to do with the re-mapping of the hardware during
the transfer from the initial ram based boot image to the 'real'
hardware based image.

OK. If things aren't behaving the way we all think they should, we're
not seeing something. How about providing some additional information?
What I'm thinking is:
1) The output of mount immediately after booting.
2) The output of mount *after* mounting the partition that's causing the
problem.
3) The contents of /proc/scsi/scsi.
BTW, a work around that should work is to put the mount command you're
doing from the command line in /etc.rc.d/rc.local. This shell script
gets executed after all other initialization tasks. This doesn't
explain why you're running into this problem but it at least means you
won't have to type the mount command each time you boot.
Cheers,
Dave
