I never mentioned it because I assumed it was unique to this laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200).

Same here but ndiswrapper works just fine.
When bcm43xx was first released, I chased the problem to a timing issue
between my AP and bcm43xx for authentication. If I run my AP open (I
know, really bad idea), it connects just fine. If I use a WEP key,
bcm43xx times-out before the AP responds.

httpd and userdir
by Eric Tanguy
I have httpd running fine on a newly installed FC6 but i can't achieve
httpd to serve user's public_html directory. I commented 'UserDir
disable' and added 'UserDir public_html' in httpd.conf but when i try to
go to http://localhost/~tanguy/ i obtain You don't have permission to
access /~tanguy/ on this server. Is there something to do with selinux
or permissions ?
Thanks

FC5 and compiz
by Ric Moore
Guys and Gals, I'm getting to information overload here and my brain
hurts. Is there one definitive site with a step-by-step to install FC5
compiz for my GeForce FX 5200? So far I have the 1.0-8774 driver
version, 128 MB of video memory and it sez Bus Type AGP 8X
Something akin to Stanton Finley's Step-by-Step would be really nice.
God bless you Stanton for having a site so clearly definitive.
Everything else I've been to just hasn't grokked in me head yet. So, I'm
hoping that someone can point me to a site that sez it all, one step at
a time, to a nice working solution that hopefully won't blow up! <grins>

FC6 - compiz and sdlmame/xmame don't get along
by Frank Cox
Under FC6 with SDLMAME 0109u2 and "compiz" active, it runs dead slow, as in
several minutes wait for anything to happen other than a black screen.
xmame.x11 gives me nothing but a black screen or window no matter how long I
wait, even though it says that it did x number of frames when I exit. So it's
apparently running the game, but it's not visible.
Without "compiz", everything appears to work as expected.
It looks like compiz is incompatible with xmame and SDLMAME for some reason.

Thanks for the idea. I bumped the RAM up to 256MB and it seems to work
now. Thanks a lot for the reply Kevin.

FC6 doesn't recognize ATI X1300 graphics card
by Kevin Flynn
After doing a clean install of FC6 (i386) on a notebook containing an ATI
X1300 graphics card, the machine cannot successfully start X. After poking
around, I noticed that the installer-generated xorg.conf file is missing
some key sections (monitor, graphics device info), and more disturbingly
that the anaconda log file contains a line about the ATI X1300 being an
unrecognized device! The device is listed correctly by lspci, but rerunning
system-config-display doesn't help.
Has anyone gotten an X1300 to work with Fedora? Note that I'm not
interested in using the ATI-supplied driver (yet), I just want to get the
device working using the vanilla radeon/ati driver that comes with the OS.
FYI, a bug reported has already been created (though it is for RHEL) at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=212654
Thanks for any help.
