A friend of mine just suggested that you turn on the bthid service.
It's the bluetooth human interface device driver. I have NO experience,
so this is totally third hand, but it might be worth a try

chkrootkit output
by Stuart Lowe
Hey folks,
Can anyone tell me what the following output from chkrootkit might mean:
Checking `chkutmp'... The tty of the following user process(es) were not found
in /var/run/utmp !
! RUID PID TTY CMD
! root 4674 tty1 /sbin/mingetty tty1
! root 4677 tty2 /sbin/mingetty tty2
! root 4680 tty3 /sbin/mingetty tty3
! root 4683 tty4 /sbin/mingetty tty4
! root 4686 tty5 /sbin/mingetty tty5
Naturally I'm concerned.
Thanks,
Stuart.

Way back when, SMIT was available for a number of platforms, including
HP-UX and Sun. I vaguely remember that somebody said it was ported to
Linux, but I don't have the details.

OT: iptables rules request
by James Pifer
I'm looking for some help with iptables. Anyone good in iptables willing
to assist with (ie write) a few rules?
I have a box running iptables and there are three networks going through
it.
eth0 is the local network 192.168.192.0
eth1 is the internet
ipsec0 is a vpn 172.16.0.0
Everything is good except I'd like to limit what machines on my
192.168.192 network can communicate over the ipsec0 connection. Here's
what I'd like to accomplish:
1) Allow 192.168.192.2 to only use port 53 (UDP) through ipsec0
2) Allow 192.168.192.100 full access through ipsec0
3) Allow 192.168.192.10-192.168.192.25 full access through ipsec0
4) Disallow anything else through ipsec0
If I have this much, I figure I could use them as a template to do more.
I've been digging through tutorials and googling for iptables stuff.
Didn't find a lot dealing with three seperate NICs like this. I can kind
of see what it might look like, but I really don't want to spend the
whole day by trial and error getting this to work.
Anyone willing to assist (give) me rules that would do this?
Any help is appreciated.

making a custom fedora distro...
by Oisin Mulvihill
Hi,
I currently use fedora core three in combination with kickstart
to produce and automated install. I would like to reduce the
amount of cd's I need to do this. I like to make a single CD
with just the packages I need. I'm not sure how to go about
doing this. I've searched around the fedora site and done some
searching with google, without much luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
om

OT: postgresql 8 for RH9 / RHE 3
by Jamie Bohr
Does any have an RPM for postgresql 8 and pgadmin3 for RHE v3 or know where
I can get the RPM's for RH9? The comiling of all the supporting software was
getting to be more than I wanted to do. I have looked all over and found
most of the links on PostgeSQL's web site were pointing to pages that no
longer exists.
Thank you,
Jamie
