Please no vulgarities.
You need to upload your files. For me it gives me a file listing, and
nothing to do with fedora.
Go away and stop complaining to us about this. It's either your fault
or your web host's fault that your files are not working properly. If
you don't like Fedora, GO GET ANOTHER HOST WHICH USES ANOTHER OS. I
WILL GUARANTEE TO YOU that you will hate it, but if you have something
against Fedora, I'm sure you will feel right at home.

by Danny Terweij
Hi,
Installed a box a while ago. because 64mbram i decided not to install the
GUI. As of today RAM was added (576mb now).
So i tried system-config-packages.. but that needs the GUI.. is there
another way for the list of packages on de DVDrom and install the GUI and
related packages? (KDE/GNOME/x11org and so on)

logwatch and ssh, not recognizing entries correctly
by B Wooster
So I get daily reports from logwatch, but am having trouble figuring
out why logwatch reports all the sshd lines as "Unmatched Entries".
So, I get thousands of lines in the email that are unrecognized. But
related entries seem to be matched correctly by pam_unix.
Is the logwatch sshd script out of date in Fedora FC3 and does not
match the openssh output?
Here are the unmatched entries examples:
User nobody not allowed because not listed in AllowUsers
Failed password for invalid user nobody from 216.17.211.26 port 53321 ssh2
Invalid user patrick from 216.17.211.26
Failed password for invalid user patrick from 216.17.211.26 port 53259 ssh2
Invalid user patrick from 216.17.211.26
Failed password for invalid user patrick from 216.17.211.26 port 60961 ssh2
User root not allowed because not listed in AllowUsers
.....
sshd version is:
OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a Feb 19 2003
.....
Using latest Fedora: 2.6.10-1.770_FC3
....
Looking at /etc/log.d/scripts/services/sshd, I notice that it is not
looking for above lines, but is instead looking for "Failed ... login"
instead of "Invalid user".
Also: the pam_unix logwatch script is working - but seems to me all
that info will be duplicate of what the sshd script would print out,
not sure if this how the normal setup is.

Hi
I am the owner of www.djservix.tk
This morning, when I went on the website, the Fedora thing appeared. But the
thing is I have NEVER demanded to participate in it or whatever. So why the
hell is it taking over my website?
Thanks!

I don't think you're being used as a spammer--though
someone is trying. There is a REJECT line in your log
for that job#. I get these a lot (though use sendmail
so it's a little different). There are so many people
out there trying, though, you may want to make sure
you server is secure by enabling SMTP AUTH and
checking your Access lists in the configuration files.

screen flashing to black every several seconds
by Claude Jones
For no explainable reason, my graphic interface has gone crazy. It
flashes to black for a moment everal several seconds. Nothing else seems
to be affected. If I'm typing, words keep getting put in the doc.
Downloads continue, etc... I loaded some of the latest patches/updates
last night. Apart from that this machine was idle all day. It's up on
the net with Firestarter providing pretty strict rules. I just tried
downloading/installing the latest ATI Radeon 9200 video driver from ATI.
I searched the list for similar behavior, but couldn't find anything.
What could have changed in my absence??? Have I been hacked by someone?

RE: screen flashing to black every several seconds
by Kevin
Yes I read them, I know how frustrating this can be.
Actually now I think about it, I had this problem
yesterday when I changed the x-font server from port
7100 to 7110. I got nothing but a flashing black
screen.
You didn't install a firewall or play with iptables
did you? I can't remember the config file I edited,
maybe do a google for "xfont server port 7110" if you
think this could be a problem.
Another thing I was thinking is this: I just this
minute installed the Nvidia driver on my system, in
the readme file it says to edit xorg.conf and remove
the lines: Load "dri" and Load "GLcore", then make
sure you have Load "glx in the driver section". I
would think there would be a readme with the ATI
drivers too, maybe check through that.
Hope this helps.........Kev :)
