Credit Card authorization from FC3
by Brian Fahrlander
I'm wanting to take credit cards from an FC3 machine. It requires a
PAM module to 'authorize' the card, measure the length of time logged-in
and then charge that card for the connected time.
I have the flowchart in my head; it's that simple. I just need
someone to help me with the code.
Money is available for this, as soon as it goes in- any takers?

Might be your timezone setting -- what is timezone set to ("echo $TZ"
from a shell prompt)? What's the timezone setting for whatever user
the ftp daemon is running under?

Burning a 4,4GB. single file to a DVD
by A. Lanza
Hi list,
i'm trying to burn a single large file (4,4GB. in size) to a DVD with no
success. It looks like the problem is that mkisofs has a limitation on
the size of each individual file it takes. My installed version of
mkisofs is 2.01.1. and i'm using k3b to burn the DVD.
What i want is to burn 4,4GB. files containing backup data to DVDs. Is
there a way to overpass mkisofs limitation?
TIA,
Alf

update glibc to glibc-devel-2.3.4-10.i386.rpm on FC2
by Paul Rennix
Can anyone tell me the safest way to upgrade these packages all at once? Is
there a way to do it with yum without adding the devel repositories or
another easy way?

Small Firefox Dependency Issue
by David Cary Hart
I noticed in the prelink log that firebox-bin (1.01) had a dependency
problem. Using ldd, I determined that the problems were two files;
libxpcom.so and libmozjs.so. Both of these can be found
in /usr/lib/firefox-1.01. Copying them to /usr/lib solves the
dependencies. Is this a real problem worth a bugzilla?

which mkinitrd?
by Douglas Frank
Still plugging away at migrating my RH9 laptop 2.4->2.6.
Latest issue is mkinitrd: "make install" failed with this complaint:
All of your loopback devices are in use.
mkinitrd failed
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make: *** [install] Error 2
And *then* I read that I'm supposed to upgrade mkinitrd. Sigh, OK
break out the FC3 CD's and copy mkinitrd-4.1.18-2's rpm. Upgrade that,
find a dependency on lvm2. Well, bring that over too. Try to install
lvm2-2.00.25, find it has a dependency on... (drum roll)... kernel
2.6!!!
Which mkinitrd should I use? Or is this not my real problem?

Black Screen After YUM Update Revisited:
by Mark Sargent
Hi All,
I previously posted about a problem with a black screen with Fedora 2
after updating via yum. Unfortunately, on Knoppix, where I've been
coming to you from, I've lost access to my mail app, hence starting a
new thread. Following on from the posts by some that it may be related
to my graphic card drivers, nVidia, I installed another card that I had
here @ home, ATI Radeon 7500, but, I still get the same, a black screen
and where it continually changes back and forth to a text based login,
which disappears to quickly for me to actually login. I also went and
did a yum update through the recovery cd process, but no luck there,
either. Someone mentioned posting some ouput from certain files, but, as
I can't access the previous mail, can't know what it was. Paul Howarth,
I'n confident you were one who asked for such things. Would you be so
kind as to tell me again what it was.? Cheers, and again, sorry for what
may seem as a double posting of the same problem.
Mark Sargent.
