mono-core and ikvm
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
I've built ikvm (it's required for monodevelop), but when I install it,
the install complains that it requires mono-ikvm. ikvm should be
compiled when mono-core is compiled (and so should be part of mono-core
package).
Is mono-ikvm being built with mono-core? The mono-project website spec
for mono-core says that it should.

repoview TGZ ?
by Chasecreek Systemhouse
Can I issue a tar zcvf on the repoview directory BEFORE I download it?
Does the FTP server support that command option?
Thx/Bill

XEN

Hey,
Somebody already experienced with XEN under FC5Tx? Are the
installation-routines from FC4 still valid?
Thx,

External USB drive not recognized during install process
by Claude Jones
I've got a couple of flavors of Linux running on an external USB drive on my
laptop. Both installed without major issues. I'd like to get rid of one and
replace it with FC5t2, but, the installer doesn't give me the option of
installing to the USB drive - it only sees the internal HD. I've tried
searching the list, but the only references to installing to external USB
HD's are very old. Can this be done? How can I get the installer to see SDA1?
I do see a reference in the early boot from CD process, to installing USB
devices and drivers, but no external USB drive is offered in the install
page.

Wierd Behavor (2 problems)
by CodeHeads
Hello all,
Is anyone having this issue:
#1) When inserting a CD the gnome panels freeze up. No, I am not running
NetworkManger (disabled). It happens on *all* kernel versions. I did a
search on this but could not find anything useful.
#2) When booting into kernel 2.6.15-1.1871 There is an error starting
IPTables. (Bad builtin chain) This does not happen when booting into
kernel 2.6.15.-1.1826
Thanks,

policy core utils?
by Chasecreek Systemhouse
Under FC5 Test 2 the lastest policy core utils (which also brings in
libselinux, I believe) has set my file system read only and hosed the
disk -- I have had to completely reinstall twice to only reach this
same fatal end.
Should I disabled selinux BEFORE issuing a yum upgrage with anything
relating to the selinux or policy rpms???

FC5t2+updates -- I cannot get nm-applet to configure a WPA or WPA2 connection
by Miles Lane
I cannot get nm-applet to configure a WPA or WPA2 connection
to my Airport Extreme hub. I am running the IPW2200 driver
and the Airport Extreme has the latest firmware installed.
I have no trouble getting NetworkManager to connect using WPA
with OpenSUSE "Factory" (the SUSE equivalent of FC5T2),
so I know that current NetworkManager code is capable of
handling WPA. Note that OpenSUSE has other problems.
Namely, they don't have a keychain mechanism in place yet
and I have to enter the password by hand each time.
Regarding setting up the keychain manager so that it provides
the passwords to nm-applet without prompting me for the
keychain password, I haven't figured out how to get this
working yet.

bcm43xx udev firmware
by Neal Becker
I am trying to follow instructions for testing bcm43xx. I extracted
firmware from bcmwl564.sys, seemed OK. Wrote to /lib/firmware. But it
doesn't seem like any firware download happened. This is now the
responsibility of udev (no longer hotplug), right? Do I have to setup
something for udev to do this?
modprobe bcm43xx gives this:
[nbecker@nbecker4 ~]$ sudo /sbin/modprobe -v bcm43xx
