system-config-kickstart doesn't start
by Richard Hally
You guys that were saying use kickstart were pulling my leg right?
Ok, so I tried system-config-kickstart. It would not start.
bug 178759 filed.
The last line of the error says: "Please make sure the comps package is
installed". Well, I have everything installed and there is no comps
package! there is no comps package in the devel(rawhide) either. So I
copy the comps.xml file from /var/cache/yum/development to the location
specified in the error message. s-c-kickstart still fails to start.
What a joke-- it wouldn't even start.
Good luck with your kickass kickstart ha ha ha. =8)

I have read the thread

Strange monitor behavior
by Alexander Sukhodolsky
I set yum to update my packages and it started downloading all of them. So
I decided to step away for about 10 minutes. When I came back to check out
the progress, the screen had dimmed--but the stuff was still working in the
background--I am running a laptop hooked up to power, btw. But the cursor
is just as bright as normal. Kind of strange behavior...any ideas?
BTW--I haven't restarted it yet to check out if it is permanent or not--my
guess is that it's not. Will update on that just as soon as yum is
finished.

Make yum and pup smarter?
by Jerry Williams
Would it be possible to make yum and pup smarter?
I was wondering if they could check each package and if the dependency fails
uncheck or skip it?
There could be a check button for pup. Also would like to see an uncheck
all on pup.
Or be able to do like shift select or space and arrows,
just some way to do lots of uncheck or check fast.
Also would be nice to have the puppy icon in gnome menu.
When it fails this is what I do:
yum update >y.txt
grep Package y.txt|awk '{print $3}'|xargs -n 1 yum -y update
This is kind of the same thing, just not very efficient, but easier than
trying to figure out what
is broken. When I get done everything gets installed, just not the broken
stuff.
Thanks to everyone that has worked on Fedora!
I love the new graphics!
