I've wanted (and suggested) something like this for ages, for a
different reason: ability to drop-in local mirror configs, again
without
modifying the RPM-packaged config.
Nice! Yeah, there seems to be multiple use cases for this - come to
think of it, we could use your use case in some of our internal systems
too.
I'll bring it up in our internal roadmap planning and try and allocate
some time for this for the next few months.
