How can I commit a new package to EPEL5? I adapted python3-3.1.2 from F-13 to RHEL5, anyone need it?

New git in EPEL?

After some discussion in IRC (Fedora-admin) we are wondering if pushing a new git in EPEL is a good idea. There are some changes such as git-command vs git command. So there could be some breakage. Should we push a new git and cause some breakage or stick with old-n-busted? My thoughts are to push out a new one, since I think if you are using git, you curse everytime you touch this old crusty thing :) stahnma

Just a note that python26 is in main epel updates now and we can build python26 versions of needed packages against it. There are some pending review currently, you can see them at: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?short_desc=python26&short_desc_type… There are a few that have already passed review, so you can take a look at those to get an idea of how things should be setup. Reviewers and submitters of new packages welcome. :) Help build our python26 ecosystem. ;) kevin

EPEL5 Lua problems (with an update request from 5.1.2-1 to 5.1.4-2+)

Hi, The current Lua RPMS in EPEL5 [1] are affected by two bugs * Bug 495095 - pkg-config reports wrong --libs output for lua-devel in EPEL on 64-bit OS * Bug 499238 - liblua-5.1.so missing -lm dependency, lua.spec fix provided that make it unsuable. Rebuilding the Fedora lua-5.1.4-4 rpms for EPEL5 fixed both problems for me.
