The rule of thumb is that we don't. If you need a certain feature
from the
newer version, you can try requesting a backport, explaining your use
case. We
generally try to help fellow EPEL packagers even when they are not
RHEL
customers (when the backport is doable with reasonable effort).
However, if you just want a newer version because you like new
things, maybe
try Fedora Linux instead of EL+EPEL.
