Exciting news, is there a link to the ticket(s) the GIMP folks need
help with? Odds are I'm not qualified but I'd be happy to look.

Hi folks,
just want to send some heads up info about the GIMP package in the
RHEL-9 release.
As some of you might notice, the GIMP package is missing in RHEL-9.
The reason for this is it's requirement of Python 2, which isn't
supported in RHEL-9 any more.
During the RHEL-9 prep phase, I gave the information that GIMP
authors are working on a new GIMP 3 release, which is going to use
Python 3 and once the GIMP 3 is released, the GIMP package will
appear in RHEL-9 again.
Carrying this in mind I would like to ask you - *don't* create a gimp
branch for EPEL9 as it would create additional problems later once
the GIMP 3 is available.
Thank you for your understanding and wish you all the best in 2022.
