I was just figuring this out. I am looking at the cups web interface for my notebook
where I am able also have the printer. The 'joy' of a minimal server install is to
figure out what you have to add to get it useful! I installed hplip which also installed
hpijs.
Now for the hp8600 I have a choice of hpijs or hpcups. My notebook is using hpcups.
What is the difference?
Sorry, I have no idea. I would consider configuring 2 printers using different drivers
and seeing which one works best.
