Hello,
I changed to oracle jre & jdk which is working fine. Now I need to
remove openjdk, but when I give "yum remove java-openjdk" it wants to
remove 575 MB of files (which includes vize and eclipse and LO).
Can't I *just* remove the openjdk?
Hi,
Just curious, why are you switching to Oracle JDK instead of using
OpenJDK? While 6 had many divergences, OpenJDK7 and Oracle JDK7 are
quite close.
As for the answer to your question, no you will not be able to remove
OpenJDK because Eclipse depends on components installed by the OpenJDK
RPMs. The only way it would be removable is if you use a wrapper RPM to
install the Oracle JDK such that it provides the necessary java*
dependencies.
Cheers,
Deepak
