While it's true that there is no built-in Java support, there is plenty
available. The best resource for serious Java on Fedora is
jpackage.org.
This is changing for FC4. Rawhide has lots of new packages that java
developers will probably find interesting:
- java-1.4.2-gcj-compat{,-devel} ("traditional" JVM/JDK environment with
free tools)
- Java-GNOME bindings
- lots of ant packages
- Eclipse
- lots of Jakarta stuff
- and more ...
