1) who ONLY uses packages from the Fedora repo?
Some, many.
Lets see:
$ ls /etc/yum.repos.d | grep -v fedora
brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com_x86_64_.repo home:hawkeye116477:waterfox.repo metasploit-framework.repo rpmfusion-free.repo rpmfusion-free-updates.repo rpmfusion-free-updates-testing.repo virtio-win.repo vivaldi.repo winehq.repo
Let's see, that would be Brave Browser Waterfox Classic Metasploit VLC and others qemu-KVM Vivaldi Wine (sometimes for trouble shooting)
SoftMaker, LibreOffice (LO), Master PDF Editor do not have a repos (yet).
I use LO's RPM as I have to support Windows as well and I need to run the same version they do.
The ONLY non-rpm program I run is PDF Studio.
I am currently listening to Classic FM on VLC care of RPM Fusion.
But, if I have issues with non-fedora packages I take it to the community that supports those packages.
You seriously think I was asking for help? I was posting a tip to help others.
And, if someone asks about a non-fedora package I may try to find the answer for them.
I don't assume that a large number of people who may use a non-fedora package will be interested in those package issues and pollute the fedora list with musings on what is wrong with them. Can you just imagine for a moment if more people did that?
And still the "examples" you give are useless.
What examples did I give? I only reported the programs with the issue. This was meant to help others, not a plea for help. Believe me, if I need help, I am VERY direct about it
I know how to make symbolic links. Many people do.
You didn't give *any* examples of what "wine" commands
Hmm, what part of Wine fixed it did you miss?
to use or what softmaker commands to use to "overwrite" created links.
If you really, really want to try it our yourself, here is a how to reproduce: https://forum.softmaker.com/viewtopic.php?f=307&t=20923
You have to install SoftMaker Free first: https://shop.softmaker.com/repo/rpm/x86_64/RPMS/
And again, I am, not asking for help with this issue.
Although, if you do install SoftMaker Free (or paid) I would love to hear your evaluation of Soft Maker Office. It is a lot more like M$ Office for those that can't learn anything new.
