Did you try running nvidia-xconfig? Also, there is no reason to reboot.
All you need do is hit Ctrl-Shift-Backspace to cause the Xserver to restart.
Yes I have tried, and just did again. It does seem to be a step. It
looks like it does try and use both displays, but on the LCD (DVI->VGA
port) I get a "MODE NOT SUPPORTED" message. Right underneath it says:
H:68.8KHZ V:85.1KHZ
I tried entering those numbers in the Monitor section:
HorizSync 68.5
VertRefresh 84.8
but I still get the same thing.
Also, Ctrl-Shift-Backspace doesn't do anything for me....
Any ideas?
