Switching from gdm to kdm makes screen power management not work, i.e.
after some time of inactivity screen becomes blank in gdm but not in
kdm

It probably isn't affecting a large enough group of people to make it to the top of
the priority list. And it probably either has, or needs to be, kicked upstream.
But don't despair. I filed a bugzilla on a font problem on December 4, 2013 and it
was just fixed. :-) :-)
