yes that sounds exactly like the issue I'm experiencing, thanks for the
workaround, I'll try it out.

Ok, the workaround seems to work, I had to the suspend/resume cycle twice,
but it's far better than before.
When editing the boot line I noticed it already contained
'i915.i915_enable_rc6=1'
but 7 seems to be the perfect value.
