it returns nothing because i don't have i686 package
if i run yum groupinstall xfce i obtain :
Dépendances résolues
Résumé de la transaction
================================================================================
Installation de 36 paquet(s)
Mise à jour de 3 paquet(s)
Taille totale des téléchargements : 24 M
Est-ce correct [o/N] :
without any i686 package
but if i try the same with yumex :
it try to install a lot of i686 libs for dependancies.

that would probably be expected if you have something like
nspluginwrapper.i686 installed (common on a 86_64 system)
You can check... rpm -q nspluginwrapper.i686
