Great. Even though modprobe -n -v cx8800 reports the right thing:
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/kernel/drivers/i2c/i2c-core.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/kernel/drivers/media/video/videodev.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/btcx-risc.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/v4l2-common.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/v4l1-compat.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/kernel/drivers/i2c/algos/i2c-algo-bit.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/video-buf.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/cx88xx.ko
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/updates/cx8800.ko
(modutils-2.4.26-16 FC2 stock package)
I'm still borked. Thanks Axel - I'll snag the update.
Without the update the order of the probed modules were "random", more
precicely depended on the directory entry order. So, some were lucky
and had /updates/ search before the rest, and other were not. You seem
to have been "lucky" wrt the search order. Too bad the module still
refuses to work. I hope the rpms will help.
