I'm wondering if it's not counting directories....
the find command after I saw that was like duh, much easier....
if you have time, just for giggles, try ll -R|grep ogg |wc -l and see if
that reports the same number as the find commands.

Something like:
$ find . -type f -iname \*.ogg | wc -l

me a figure, seems to me a little out so I'm not exactly sure what else it
is counting... :)
