Well, rebooted and now NetworkManager recognizes that it's enp1s0, and it
works without network-scripts installed. Don't know what changed, but I'll
take it.
FWIW, you can do....
sudo nmcli connection modify Wired\ connection\ 1 connection.id eth0
to change the name to "eth0" or whatever you like to make it easier.
