You're talking about /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/rpm-spec-mode.elc
right? When you first mentioned it, I thought now that we know
who's responsible for .spec, it should be straightforward to
"port" it to C/C++. After seeing the .elc file, I'm thinking
holy crap!

Oops, sorry 'bout that chief... You will probably need to do something like
$ sudo yum install emacs-el
Or something like that. I don't recall the exact package name...
$ yum list emacs*
will probably find it for you. IIRC it's somewhere in site-lisp...
