I disagree with some of your arguments. Just because you cannot afford
RHEL does not mean that you MUST use FC. There are many other free
alternatives (Debian, Gentoo, *BSD, etc). Also, there are reasons that
bugs can't get fixed. Sometimes there is no time or money or priority
to fix a bug. Sometimes there is not enough interest (rare hardware).
Sometimes a fix breaks other things and you have to weigh the good of
one vs good of many. I'm not suggesting that any of these apply to this
problem is particular. Rather I am arguing that statements containing
MUST or NO REASON or "other all or nothing words" are generally false.
