You don't. If you modify the grub2 binary, the signature is invalid
and the system won't boot (under Secure Boot). There is almost
certainly no reason you need to modify/maintain the grubx64.efi binary.

hopefully from now on I won't have to do anything but install
the new kernels, and the system will update grub.cfg .. just like the
old days...
