I can't see any tangible difference between doing "su -" and then using
the command line as root user to do a pile of things, or starting off
by doing "sudo -i" instead (at least not in the Mate terminal).
The difference is whether or not root has a password or which password
you want to enter. But the point was that you mentioned "sudo each
thing", so I was just saying that you can do "sudo -i" once and then run
all the commands you want.
