I'm not sayin' it's good, but DNF's "protected packagess"
feature will
protect you in this case. It won't even let you do it if you accidentally
say yes to that confirmation prompt (or provide -y). Like this:
$ sudo dnf -y remove dnf
Error:
Problem: The operation would result in removing the following protected packages: dnf
