It probably isn't right answer ;)
It seems as rt2860sta from rpmfusion is (GPL) driver from
ralinktech.com,
while rt2800pci mainstream driver is from
serialmonkey.com.
Or that might be yet right answer? :)

Hmm.. well it's true I didn't check first whether this applies to your
chipset, but it worked for my rtl8192e which is also in staging. I just
assumed they could be activated the same way
