I don't quite understand. Is booting slow or is setting up a KDE session
after loging slow?
In case of booting, the first thing to check would be to check if
networking/DNS/dhcp is working.
Exactly what happened to me but only after a recent update. I hope
to
find the reason but I suspect it is related to KDE session restore or
the nouveau driver.
Did you try to set up a new account?
