Using -f with the ssh command will prompt for a password. I don't
know if rsync will pass that through.
$ ssh -f inside
Cannot fork into background without a command to execute.
So not -f
The rsync manpage has this suggestion:
set environment variable RSYNC_PASSWORD to the password
Maybe the combination will let rsync pass the pw to the ssh prompt?
