It depends on the extent to which one can help.
Making people aware of the definitions by citing references is a way
to make them understand why such terminology existed, and what it
really means.
It is true that people don't read history, and come to conclusions
based on half-baked truths. They also don't retrospect or reason
before making statements. Sad, but true.
