If you try to use IPv6 over a network that doesn't support it (that
means everything within your LAN, your link to your ISP, and its link to
the outside world), then failures are going to happen. Particularly
when the software thinks that it can use IPv6. i.e. It asks for an IP,
gets given an IPv6 one, then is unable to make an IPv6 connection.
In my opinion, you either have to turn off IPv6, or ensure that it's
fully working (you have a completely IPv6 capable network, or a working
IPv6 over IPv4 proxy). Leaving it up to its own devices is asking for
trouble.
